Advanced Classes - Blue Belts and Above

After a blue belt is awarded to the student, he/she is invited to the advanced class. The fundamentals of the beginner class serve as a springboard to the more complicated techniques of the advanced class. The sparring is more challenging because the advanced students have more experience in class and in tournaments. Upon acceptance into the advanced class, the student begins to expand the breadth of knowledge of Jiu-Jitsu.

The techniques covered include:

Half Guard: sweeps and passes

Knee in the Belly: attacks and defenses

Mount: advanced attacks and transitions

Side Mount: working on applying pressure, attacks

Back: advanced attacks, keeping the position

Butterfly Guard: advanced sweeps

Hook Sweeps: de la Riva guard and inside hook guard

Sparring: advanced and competition style sparring

Teacher Training: more in-depth analysis and practice of the fundamentals that will allow you to teach the techniques

Private/Semi-Private Lessons:

Private instruction is a great supplement to the training you have received in your group lessons. With private lessons, you will progress faster than by taking group lessons alone. The personalized attention and energy of an instructor during a private lesson can be a tremendous advantage.

During the one-hour private lesson, you can choose what areas to focus on. You can ask Eduardo Rocha about techniques

beyond your belt requirements and work on refining the techniques that you learned and practiced in your group lessons.
